2024 nominations announced, film 'Oppenheimer' tops
Hollywood's
most prestigious Academy Award 'The Oscars' has announced the
nominations for the year 2024, in which the film 'Oppenheimer' topped
the list with 13 nominations.
Christopher
Nolan's film won Best Picture, Best Director (Christopher Nolan), Best Leading
Actor (Clayne Murphy), Best Supporting Actress (Emily Blunt), Best Supporting
Actor (Robert Downey Jr.), Best Screenplay (Christopher Nolan), Best Nominated
for Cinematography (Hotte van Hoetma), Best Film Score (Ludwig Gorensen), among
others.
Best films
nominated for Oscars include American Fiction, Barbie, Anatomy of a Fall, The
Holdovers, Maestro, Past Lives, The Zone of Interest, The Holdover, Colors of
the Flower Moon and Poor Things.
After
Oppenheimer, Poor Things was nominated for the most Oscars. Poor Things'
nominations include 11 categories including Best Film, Best Director, and Best
Actress.
Martin
Scorsese's film Colors of the Flower Moon has been nominated for 10 awards,
including Best Director and Best Actress, but Leonardo DiCaprio, who played the
lead role in the film, did not receive a Best Actor nomination.
Greta
Grogg's Barbie received eight nominations at the Oscars, including Best
Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Ryan Gosling), and two Best Song nominations.
Barbie was not nominated in the Best Director category.
The 96th
Academy Awards will air live on ABC on Sunday, March 10 from the Dolby Theater
at Ovation Hollywood. Jimmy Kimmel is set to return to host the Oscars
for the fourth time.
